After several victories over King Jarasandha, Krshna decided to move His family
from Mathura to Dwaraka. In Dwaraka, Krshna and Balarama pretended to be afraid
of Jarasandha, and ran to the mount Pravarsava.
The evil minded Jarasandha, followed the two brothers to the mountains, but
couldn’t get track of them, so he set the mountain on fire. In order to avoid the fire,
the two brothers Krishna and Balarama jumped eighty eight miles to the ground, and
in this way were safe and sound.
